"Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained."

Well, here it is...my first ever blog entry. I decided to post a few entries, see who, if anyone, responds and go from there. I'll be damned if I type things about my life and weight loss and have no one give me any attention for it.

I guess I should give some background about myself. I'm 26 years old. My husband and I got married last June in Bryan/College Station (GigEm' Aggies). One day, if anyone cares to know, I'll tell you how we met. It's adorable. Our marriage is perfect and full of butterflies and sunshine and glitter. JUST KIDDING. I love him dearly and God definitely knew what He was doing when he put us together. We are total opposites and butt heads like there's no tomorrow, but the love and dedication is strong folks. He is my bff and always will be. He never once made me feel like my weight gain was obvious or outwardly judged me for being a chunky monkey. This is us dancing at our wedding. We partied like white trash on Jerry Springer after hearing "you are NOT the father!" It was perfect and the best night of my life so far.

I have a mom, a dad and two younger brothers. My family is nice and I like them. I love them actually. I don't have any tragic story about my childhood or a terrifying experience that made me gain the weight I did...honestly, no excuses for it...I've tried really hard to think of a way I could blame my mom. Can't do it. I do blame her for my ass though, as well as my thighs and inability to keep my mouth shut. I thank my father for his height which is the only reason I was able to carry 60 extra pounds without toppling over. This is my family, again at our wedding. These pictures are the most recent with all of us in one picture. From left to right, my handsome dad, my hubby, myself+35 lbs. ago, my middle brother, my lovely momma and my youngest giant brother. They are a hoot.

I teach ABC which is the Adaptive Behavior Classroom at a school in Sugar Land. It's a self-contained environment for students with autism and severe behavioral problems. I love it. And when I say I love it, I mean I love going to work on Monday mornings and get a little sad on Friday when I tell my kids bye. I am fortunate enough to have 2 outstanding paraprofessionals in the classroom with me. They. Are. The. Best. Hands down. They have become 2 of my closest friends and are very special to me. My students mean the world to me. I tear up just thinking about them. I can't post a picture of my kiddos, but here's one of my classroom and of the 3 of us.

Oh! We don't have any kids...yet. I'm dying to be pregnant and have a cute little munchkin of my own. See? I really have NO excuse for gaining 60 pounds...not even a kid to show for it! Crazy! We plan to buy a house in the Spring and after that milestone is accomplished, it's game on to do the baby dance.  Yeah, you guessed it, that was/remains a major motivator in my weight loss journey. Anyway, more on that later. We don't have kids, but we have the 2 most adorable, loving, smart, precious doggies! They are the best. If you have anything negative to say about American Pit Bull Terriers please exit this page immediately. It just goes to show you that if you invest your time and emotions into training your kids, I mean dogs, then they will reflect that and be awesome. If you treat your kids like shit and neglect them or train them to be mean to others, of course they are going to fight and be aggressive. Duh. See our bulls below.

Aren't they adorable? I think so. Okay. I'm pretty sure that covers the main aspects of my life. My next post will dive right in to my weight gain/loss. I think this is going to be an interesting take on my journey...sort of in reverse...like a reflection of sorts. I love comments. Feel free to do so. If you are mean or a jack-butt, you'll be slapped in the face by karma.

    1. Thanks Jennifer! I had a blast reading Mama Laughlin's blog. It seriously gave me the extra edge to continue kicking this weight to the curb. If I can pay it forward the same way to even just one person, that's fine by me!

    1. Hi! How cool! I love the power of communication. Maybe we can be cute little preggos together instead of waddling ones. I have an irrational fear that I will be one of those people that others have to wonder "is she pregnant, or just a chunk?" haha!

    2. Yes! I'm terrified of the "look" - when I'm pregnant, I want it to be allllll belly!
